Fishing In the Lidder Valley

The Lidder Valley is a fisherman's dream: pure mountain air, peaceful surroundings and
bountifully populated waters. The Lidder River feeds the entire region of lush meadows
and magnificent clear lakes with a series of tributaries and streams all of which teem with
rainbow and brown trout. The best time for fishing stretches from April to September, and
the best spots are known by locals, so we always know where to head to find the best
fishing.

We can arrange fishing expeditions out of Srinagar into the Lidder Valley on an individual
basis according to your time frame and according to the best current fishing locations.
Permits are issued for a maximum of three days at a time on a first-come first-served
basis, and are charged on a per day per rod basis. We will arrange your permit as well as
the renting of fishing equipment, if you require. Overnight expeditions in the Valley are
available. Sleeping in modern tents with cooked breakfasts, packed lunches and cooked
evening meals are provided.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: DELHI - SRINAGAR
Upon arrival in Srinagar you will be transferred to your accommodation. An afternoon trip
to the three Mughal Gardens is arranged as well as a visit to a carpet weaving factory.

DAY 2: SRINAGAR - UPPER LIDDER VALLEY - PAHALGAM
In the morning, you will leave for trout fishing in the upper Lidder Valley. Overnight is in
Pahalgam.

DAY 3: PAHALGAM - LOWER LIDDER VALLEY - SRINAGAR
A full day of trout fishing in lower Lidder Valley is arranged. Overnight is in your
accommodation in Srinagar.

DAY 4: SRINAGAR - UPPER SINGH VALLEY - SONAMARG
In the morning, you will leave for trout fishing in the upper Sindh Valley. Overnight at
Sonamarg in either a tented camp or hotel - the choice is yours.

DAY 5: SONAMARG - LOWER SINGH VALLEY - SRINAGAR
A full day of trout fishing in lower Sindh valley is scheduled. You will return in the evening to
your accommodation in Srinagar.

DAY 6: SRINAGAR - DELHI
In the morning you will take a shikara boat tour on Dal Lake, then depart to either the airport
or station for your return to Delhi. Tour ends
